Deep-Dive Research and Public-Record Investigations

When the answer has to hold up, a quick search is not enough. I run deep-dive, researcher-grade investigations across the public record: court records, corporate registries, archives, published media and official sources. Every finding is traced back to the primary source it came from and written up so a lawyer, a board or a journalist can rely on it and defend it.

    How an engagement works

    1. Confidential initial call

We talk through what you need to know and what you intend to do with the answer. There is no obligation, and nothing about you leaves the call.

    2. Scoping and fixed quote

I set out the questions to be answered, the sources I will search and the hours involved, then give you a fixed quote so the cost is agreed before work starts.

    3. Research and interim findings

I work through the public record and send you interim findings as they emerge, so you can redirect the search early instead of waiting until the end.

    4. Documented final report

You receive a written report with every finding linked to its primary source, so it can be checked, challenged and relied upon by whoever you hand it to.

Discretion is absolute. Clients and the people researched are never named, in the report or anywhere outside it, and no matter is ever referenced publicly without written permission.

    Frequently asked questions

    What methods do you use?

Public-record and open-source research only: court records, corporate registries, company filings, archives, published media and official databases. Everything I review is public content, I do the reviewing myself, and nobody is contacted or approached during the work.

Will the findings hold up if they are challenged?

That is the point. Each finding is cited to its primary source, with the date and method of retrieval recorded, so a lawyer, a board or a journalist can verify it independently rather than take my word for it.

    Is my enquiry kept confidential?

Yes. Discretion is absolute. Clients are never named, the people I research are never named outside your report, and no client, matter or person is ever referenced publicly, including as an example, without written permission.

How much does an investigation cost?

Investigations are billed at $89 AUD / ~$59 USD per hour. After our initial call I scope the questions and the sources involved and give you a fixed quote, so the cost is settled before any work starts.
